Left Eye is a background character in my novel, “What the Luck?” In the novel, one of the characters mentions she had a “Heroes of the Yakuza Coloring Book” when she was young. As a goof to celebrate the release of the audiobook version of the novel, I actually created the coloring book.
If you are interested in adult coloring books, and by “adult” I just mean more complex and intricate than those aimed towards children with nothing to do with naked people, then check this one out as it is both amusing and oddly therapeutic.
The coloring book has a bio for Left Eye that reads as follows:
Left Eye is so-named because his left eye is about the only thing on his body that hasn't been stabbed, shot, or otherwise traumatized in some way. He has a reputation for being able to survive any situation, but from the looks of him, it is sometimes a close run thing.
Left Eye’s greatest achievement was when he was thrown out of a third story window onto the hard pavement below, got up, ran back up three flights of stairs, had his revenge on the man who had just done him wrong, and then walked the eight blocks to the local hospital before finally passing out in the lobby.
His chest features a large phoenix, which is to remind people that even if they try to burn him to death, he will be back for revenge. The scorpion on his right arm embodies the sting of his right hook, and the samurai on his back signifies his fighting spirit.
