Jay Versluis (AKA The WP Guru) has started a monthly community render challenge. https://www.versluis.com/challenge/ September's topic is "Rain." This is my second submission to the challenge and it is quite a bit different than the first one. We were told that the rain did not have to be water, so I somehow immediately thought of it raining blood. And who better to enjoy a blood storm than a cute vampire girl. So, I created Susan here for the challenge, and also as something to do to de-stress from a hectic week.
Susan was created in Reallusion's Character Creator in about 1.5 hours and the scene was rendered in iClone. The background is the "Old London Town" from the Daz3D store: https://www.daz3d.com/old-london-town?cjref=1&utm_source=cj&utm_medium=affiliate&cjevent=514e87dea8f611eb817700b70a82b838
There is one purple and one green point light on either side of her face, a spot light on the back-left, and another white point light lighting up her face from the front. The balance of the scene is lit by an HDRI which also serves as the sky. I rendered out an Iray depth mask for the scene and used that in Paintshop Pro to fade the background into darkness. Some crappy blood rain was also comped in as well on a few other layers to complete the scene.
