I had an idea on how to make a headless horsewoman and much to my surprise, my idea actually worked. In case anyone is curious, the character was created in Reallusion Character Creator. I exported the character to Blender simply to find a good part of the mesh to sever and to create a skin cap for the opening in the body / head. I then brought that cap into CC4 as an accessory, then converted it to clothing so it would move and contort to the body. Making it clothing also allows me to use the Hide Body Mesh Tool, which I used to hide the head. In this way, whenever I apply that neck cap, it automatically hides the head. Working with a duplicate character, I did the same thing but hid the whole body but left the head. That was pretty much it - I exported both to iClone and rendered with the horsey.
